Randomness

Austen is getting better at building potato head with the right parts in the right places and I have to admit it's a little sad.
I loved his creations that had no rhyme or reason.....well at least to me.

He loves to play in the backyard and pretend he is a worker.
He puts on his worker hat and does little jobs around the backyard.
He cracks me up!

The real reason for the post today is as follows.
We were out on the porch watching an epic rain storm when this conversation took place.
Austen: "Dad come over here and hold me."
Brian: didn't respond (shocking I know)
Austen: "Dad obey me."

We couldn't help but laugh, but I think it also scared us for our future a lot!

Playing At The Beach

We've been off playing, having fun, and enjoying the warm summer days which is my excuse for not blogging very frequently.
We've been enjoying the summer days so much that Austen's sleep schedule is so messed up he is never asleep before 10.
I'm going to have to get him back on sched soon, but in the mean time here are some cute pics of my boys at the beach.

Splash Pool

We have been spending a lot of time here!
In fact this is where we will be all day today!
Austen loves it and so do I because I don't have to worry about him as much as I do at the pool. He can pretty much do whatever he wants!
(Also, there are usually more kids there and he loves to make new friends!)

I have been having some issues lately with severe anxiety, so my Dad has been coming by quite frequently to assure me that I am in fact not going to die. Austen has had a little cough, so my Dad wore a mask on his last visit to make sure he didn't get any of our germs. Well, Austen of course watched intently to every single thing Grandpa did and has been practicing ever since.

Favorites

Austen is cute as ever and I have tons of hilarious stories, but we have been busy busy busy so I haven't had time to blog them.
For now I'll just make a list of Austen's current favorite things.
(This is more for me to look back on and remember than anything.)

Book: Roadwork, but he really likes If You Give A Mouse A Cookie too
Food: Spaghetti with mushrooms, and still any kind of fruit
Thing to do: Anything where he can pretend like he's a grownup! Or anything outside.
Saying: He has so many, but right not he says "can you believe it" and "I do" a lot.

King Of The Sandcastle

Austen and Daddy have been building some awesome sandcastles lately.
It is hands down one of Austen's favorite pastimes.

Mr. Creative

Austen still LOVES Mr. Potato Head and he's been putting together some pretty creative ones lately. He was especially proud of this one and even requested I take pictures.

I love this pic because you can actually see the pride.

Too Excited To Sleep

Austen got to go visit his Grandma with Brian last weekend and I guess they went to see a farm. Austen literally got to live out his dreams while up there and when they got home at 10:30 p.m. he should have been worn out, but he was still too excited from the day's adventures to sleep. He was up well past midnight.

He got to use a real pressure washer which if you know him you know is a dream come true in itself.

He also got to drive a real tractor....another lifelong fantasy.

He got to collect fresh eggs from chickens and from what he's been telling me, it sounds like he may have chased a few while he was at it.

He even got to ride a horse with his Grandma.
He's used to the little ponies at Farm Country, so I think the giant sized one was a little much for him. He told me he didn't like it and that he was shaking so bad.

Here he is brushing the horse that he told me was very dusty.

And even feeding the giant some carrots.

And last but not least, cooling the horse off with the hose.

The Best Zoo Trip Ever

We went to the zoo last weekend and it was seriously fun! Perfect weather and it was feeding time for a lot of the animals so Austen was in heaven. Before we knew it we had been there three hours and we hadn't even seen everything yet.

They have these new dinosaur things that look REALLY real.
They move and growl and some even spit out water.
Austen liked this mom with her baby, but by the time we got to the raptor and the t-rex he was NOT enjoying them any longer.
