The other day he snuck into the cereal cupboard and was eating only the marshmallows out of the lucky charms!

The other day Austen was ready for preschool ahead of schedule, so I told him to go play for a few minutes.  I went to find him when it was time to go and I found this.....

Lipstick beard!!!! It took forever to get it all off and needless to say it made us late for school!

Bunny Love

My life is so exciting that my Friday night plans consist of a bunny play date at my sister's house!

Try not to be too jealous!

Here are the two bunny half brothers together and they absolutely love each other.

So we will let them hop around together and entertain the kids for a couple hours.

What Day Is It Again?

Don't laugh, but I am seriously having trouble remembering what day it is lately! I think this whole grief thing takes up too much brain space and I don't have any left to think of things so trivial as that......maybe.....or maybe I'm just losing it. Either way, I'm feeling overwhelmed at times, so some days we've just been taking it easy and lounging around the house. Austen is fine with this because I bought him an awesome new art easel and he always has the ipad to fall back on. The only problem is that now we have a new member of the family that likes to watch it as well.

Spring Is Here

Prepare yourself for a million pictures.....there were too many cute ones to narrow it down to a normal amount, so this post is picture overload.

At least not much text needs to be involved because the pictures say it all.

Since it warmed up and we've had a few nice days, we thought we'd go see the baby animals at Wheeler Farm. Austen loved every second of it and we only lost track of him twice which is pretty good for us!

He loves to eat the bread that's intended for the ducks!

The geese were chasing him around because they knew he had bread, but instead of being scared like I would have been, he was having a great time. He loved it!

Baby cows!!! Austen was even brave enough to let the little one suck on his finger.

Baby pigs.....they were super cute!

And we can't leave without the customary tractor time.

Can You Tell He's Bored?

I haven't felt like doing much lately, so Austen and I have been staying at home.

He's found some creative ways to entertain himself, but below are pictures of his favorite and my least favorite activity.

Easter

Life goes on unfortunately.....so we somehow found the time and energy to try to have a normal Easter for the kids a mere two days after losing our Dad. We had a really nice dinner an Easter egg hunt and I even managed to put Austen's Easter basket together.

Of course we made all the kids line up for a picture before letting them go look for eggs.

Once Austen remembered there was candy in the eggs he decided he found enough eggs and that it was time to start enjoying them.

He was tearing into the candy so fast.....he looked like a kid that hadn't eaten for days.

He found his Easter basket on his bed and told me that "the Easter bunny is so sneaky".

Time To Say Goodbye

I've been avoiding this blog as you may have noticed. Since my Dad passed, I haven't been able to even look at it let alone post something new.

He LOVED to read my posts and he always left a funny comment. He would seriously memorize my posts and talk about them frequently. He always told me what a good job I did and he thanked me for posting the stories and pictures. He always said they were things he wouldn't necessarily know about otherwise.

I finally mustered up the strength and courage to blog again, but only because I know he would have been disappointed had I quit.

I miss you like crazy Dad...I miss the sound of your voice, your laugh, and even the way you smelled. It's so hard to go on with normal life, but life goes on as you alway said.

We'll miss you every moment!

The Easter Bunny Made An Early Delivery At Our House This Year

We surpirsed Austen with a bunny this year! He is the cutest little Holland Lop I have ever seen, so I couldn't resist....luckily Brian was on board! Austen chose to name him Ollie and he is fitting in nicely with our family......so far.

Brian really loves him even if he pretends not to.
