Spring Fever

Is it bad to admit that even though it's only February, I have spring fever.....BAD!  I am really over the cold and snow and I would love to be able to play outside with the kids.  I'm not asking for a lot, just 55 degrees or so and I would be happy.  Instead, it snowed last night and it's supposed to snow 2 more days this week.  I've been trying to come up with stuff to keep us busy indoors, but I have to say that we have been watching way too many movies and playing way too many ipad games.  Hopefully I'm not ruining Austen's brain too much!

I got this idea from pinterest and decided it would be fun to try because Austen loves painting and being creative.  I picked up some canvases for $2 at Hobby Lobby, some masking tape, craft paint, and some brushes and let him do his thing.

He loved it!

And the finished product was really cute!  It doubled as decor for my mantle.

We also did one for Valentines day.

While I was taking pics, he made a heart with his hands and it was totally unprompted.

He likes his art so much that he really wanted to go door to door and try to sell it for $10.  This kid is so his Daddy!
