I Guess We've Started A Collection

It all started with Brian buying Austen a Woody pez for his birthday and now everytime he sees a cool pez he buys it for Austen.
We just bought all the different Cars characters we could find and Austen was really excited about it.
If you know Brian, you know he can never just buy one of anything, so the accumulation of useless stuff is a problem around here, but Austen is surprisingly into the pez collection.
He really loves it and gets excited when we add to it.

Loading up the newest additions.

Here is most of the collection so far........don't judge my messy pantry.

This Is Going To Take A While

This is a long post both writing and picture wise, so clear your schedule. :)

My sister was nice enough to invite us to go stay with her up in Park City. Well, I thought it was nice of her to invite us until I found out it was just her and I along with SEVEN kids. I mentioned this in one of my last blog posts along with the fact that I was scared, but it turns out I was scared for all the wrong reasons! The kids were great......stay tuned for the bad part.

Austen was so excited to go up there and have a sleep over with his cousins. He had been talking about going all week and when Friday finally rolled around he knew exactly what that meant. He was so excited to go that as soon as I brought up our suitcase he carried it into his room and started loading it up.

He even got his swimming backpack all ready.
We got up there kind of late and after 45 min in the car, Austen was ready to go swimming. We hurried and fed everyone dinner and went down to the pools. It was freezing so everyone opted for the hot tubs. I had to sit this one out... Doctors orders, but it was hilarious to see Taunya trying to wrangle 7 kids by herself!
After an hour in the pool and way past everyone's bedtime (including mine) we went back up to the room to watch Nemo and eat popcorn. All the cousins were happy to finally be settled down except Austen of course who can't sit still for more than five minutes at a time no matter how tired he is. The other kids kept telling me "Austen can't sit still" and I was just thinking welcome to my world! He's exhausting, but fun!

I finally made him climb into bed and go to sleep.
In the morning the kids were having fun watching birds and cars out the window while Taunya made yummy waffles.
This picture was taken about 15 minutes before I got deathly ill and had to cut our trip short. I called the family know it all to see what could possibly have made me so sick and he said it was altitude sickness. Now, since I've never ever had that in my whole life and I've been up to Park City hundreds of times, I thought he was crazy and wasn't buying it. I called Brian and told him not to bother coming up and we packed up our stuff and flew down the mountain! The weird thing is that the further I got down the canyon, the better I felt. About 15 minutes after I got home, I was totally fine. It was the weirdest thing ever! So even though the family know it all was actually right.......I still think he's a little crazy.

Somethings You Might Not Know

So by now you all know that Austen loves to clean. In fact I'm pretty sure he risks getting in trouble making a mess just so he can clean it up.
There are some things about him that I don't mention on here, but I never want to forget these cute little personality quirks so here they are.

He loves heavy machinery and can name every piece of equipment he sees. In fact sometimes I'll say "Austen, look at that bulldozer" and he'll say "That's a grader Mom, not a bulldozer". Let me tell you getting corrected by a two year old is not fun!

He hates loud noises! Enough said.

He hates blankets and no matter how cold he gets at night he won't keep them on. I'll sneak in and cover him up, but he kicks the blankets off in a matter of seconds.

He is obsessed with his passas! He needs two at a time, one in his mouth and one that he rubs on his cheeks. It's so cute!
He also loves to get all his passas together and do weird things with them like this:

And he's also really into crude humor already! The other day he pulled a booger out of his nose and handed it to me. I asked him where it came from and he said "my butt" and started laughing hysterically.
Where does this stuff come from!!!

Look What I Built

Austen had been playing in his room the other day when he came out and got me.
He said "Mom, come look what I built."
I was thinking he built some awesome tower with his blocks or something, but instead I walked in to see this:

He had just gotten out pretty much every toy in his room and strategically placed them around thinking he was building a masterpiece.
He was so proud of it that he didn't even want me to clean it up later.
Still makes me laugh!

We're off to a weekend in Park City.
Me, my sister, and SEVEN kids.
I'm scared!!!!

On A Ligher Note....

We had so much fun at the lake yesterday, but I only had time to post one picture. Here are the rest.

Brian digging deep holes.
He was having more fun playing in the sand than Austen.

I love this picture, but he looks too old!

I Read My Last Post And Laughed

I obviously wrote that before the depression set in.
If only it were that easy to move on.....
What I should have said is I won't dwell on it on the blog.
I don't think anyone wants to read about me lying in bed crying all day.
Luckily it was a nice day today, so I pulled myself out of bed, even managed to put on some makeup, and had some fun with the family.
Austen has been begging to go to the lake and it was finally warm enough to go, so that's what we did.
He had a blast playing in the sand and "digging a hole to China" as he put it.
He also met some cute little girls while off with Grandpa.
When they came back he said he wanted to go back down to the beach to
"find some more girls".
That is a direct quote and I even have witnesses.
I think he's a fourteen year old trapped in a two year old's body.
Good thing he's so stinkin cute!
...Or maybe that's NOT a good thing?!?!

Onward And Upward

I don't want to dwell on it, but I can't move on without first saying thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, concern, babysitting, dinners, love, and support. We truly could not have made it through this week without you!

My procedure went well and I am feeling a lot better than I expected. The thing that is causing the most pain, surprisingly, is my throat from the breathing tube, other than that it isn't bad at all. I'll be back to chasing Austen around in no time!

In the meantime here is a cute pic of Austen.
I made him pose in front a this lilac bush and I even got a cute half smile.
