Summer Thunderstorm

We have had some awesome weather this July.  It has been a little cooler some days and even included some fun thunderstorms.  Austen got all his rain gear on to enjoy the warm rain.

Lego Obsession

Brian has apparently been waiting his whole life to play with Legos.  Luckily for him Austen really loves them as well, so now Brian has an excuse to go out and buy tons of Legos to come home and build.  I'm not sure who likes it more Austen, or Brian, but I think Brian.....
He actually gets mad when Austen takes one little part off the completed project and has considered super gluing them together.

This is what they have been doing every evening when Brian gets home from work......Austen would rather do this than go to the playground!

Summer Bucket List: Planet Play

We went to Planet Play last weekend for family day and it just so happens it's also on our bucket list.  Two birds one stone!

Yesterday someone anonymously left me a comment demanding more pictures, so here you go, this post is picture overload!  I am officially that crazy mom that doesn't have fun and play with her kid, I just sit there and take a thousand pictures.  We had so much fun....Austen told me that he never wanted to leave and he even wanted to sleep there!

Playing the arcades

Driving a car

I just love this face!

This is by far one of his favorite games there...he's pretty good at it and even had a bunch of boys standing around watching him play.

Racing Daddy

We had to take a break to eat....he loves the jello and rice crispy treats!

Daddy and Austen on the race cars.....it's blurry cause they were going so fast!

He found an arcade game that gives out candy which he had to eat immediately

Mini golf

The mini golf didn't last long....he was more interested in climbing in and on all the obstacles

I love this face....we told him to act scared

I'm Still Here

Don't worry, we're still here.  I have been way too busy to post anything new.  In a 48 hour period, I had two tests and now two papers due.....so for today, I will be sitting in front of my computer trying to get it all done.  I only have two and a half weeks left!! (for this semester anyway)

Summer Bucket List: Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum just re-opened in it's new building, so we decided to visit.  I have to say that I loved it, but I think it was a little too much for Austen......it's definitely not geared towards little kids.  He mostly just ran through the whole thing except the dinos.

This dino looks pretty scary, but when you drop money in it's mouth it sings to you, so Austen loved it.

Stepping in a huge dino footprint.

They have this cool floor that is glass and you can walk over the fossils that are in sand.  The picture doesn't do it justice....it was cool.

Loving the triceratops model.

And the huge dino that reached all the way up to the ceiling.

Being a paleontologist.....yes, those were his exact words.

Checking out the elk and cougar.

And a wolf.

Summer Bucket List: Catch Bugs

We caught a grasshopper!  It was not the usual green variety and it freaked me out, but Austen was fascinated.....such a boy!

Random Austen-ness

Austen is growing up so fast!  He is saying the best stuff lately and asking some great questions.  I've been trying to teach him to ask politely for things.  He's been doing pretty good, the only problem is that he thinks if he asks for something politely, that means he gets it.  This morning he asked me if he could please have some Mountain Dew to which I told him no.  He responded with "But Mom, I asked politely and now you've ruined all my chances".
I'm sure all of you know by now that my little man is crazy and always doing the funniest stuff.  I swear I spend all day laughing at the things he does and says.  In fact he has figured out that I can't stay mad at him if he makes me laugh, so now when he gets in trouble he will sing a silly song or make a funny joke and then he thinks he's home free.  Here are some pics of a few of his latest shenaningans.

Trying on mom's shoes (ignore the unmade bed)

He found this infant bib and insisted on wearing it for his bedtime snack.  He even requested I take a picture just so he could see what it looked like.

Watching a show in his chair.  It that a man pose or what?
