Happy Easter!

We started off Easter weekend with the customary Easter dinner followed by our annual egg hunt which Austen declared his best Easter ever!  He got a lot of candy, but I think he actually liked finding eggs the most.

Then we dyed eggs for the first time.....I was feeling brave.
It was actually fun and not as messy as I was dreading.  I discovered that Austen LOVES hard boiled eggs.

Even Brian got into it.  (The best part of this picture is that they are both making the same face.)

And of course the Easter bunny stopped by and left Austen some loot for Easter morning.

 He was very excited
Especially when he found the Olde Brooklyn Lantern that he's been wanting.

And just because it's Easter, I let him eat Peeps for breakfast.

We had a nice, enjoyable weekend except for the fact that Brian and I have a killer cold that won't go away.  I'm really hoping we're better before baby arrives!

Remember My Baking Obsession

Well, I think it was a little too much for my oven to handle because on Sunday evening the oven quit.  It actually started on fire while I was preheating it for my homemade mac and cheese.  Sad day.....now no baking or even cooking unless it's on the stove top.  I really need one more thing to worry about right now.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

A naughty little leprechaun visited our house while we were sleeping.
Austen loved searching the house to see what the leprechaun had done.

First there was a trail of money....
that led to a dollar bill.
He'd made some green water while he was sneaking around in our kitchen.
He ate half of a cupcake and drank some green milk while playing with Austen's favorite toy.
And he even peed in our toilet and forgot to flush! (Austen refuses to use this toilet now by the way)

I Have The Best Sisters Ever!

I have awesome sisters who are always doing the nicest things for me......they obviously do it with no hope of reciprocation because I'm not nearly as thoughtful as they are.
This last week, my sweet sister let Austen go to her house for hours on end and play dual survival in her back yard with a stick collection and all.  She even picked him up from school because I was stuck at Costco.  So thank you Kristin!  (The only problem is that Austen REALLY likes it at her house and never wants to leave.)

My other sister is a talented photographer with an awesome camera and VERY limited free time, but she was kind enough to take some maternity and family pictures for us.  Thank you Taunya, so much.  I will cherish these images forever!

Here are some super cute belly and family shots.....enjoy!

Brian can't be serious for too long.....

It's Warming Up

It has been a long winter for Austen.  He is more of a play outside all day everyday kind of kid, so when it's cold he tends to get bored easily.  Luckily we've had some warmer days, so he's been outside playing in the mud and dirt and loving every second.  He even requested we all eat lunch outside the other weekend, so we had a hot dog and hamburger picnic in our backyard.

He loves to play construction with all of his equipment!

I think it's supposed to cool off this weekend though, so we have some cleaning projects planned and a few last minute things to do to get ready for baby.

I Think I'm Still Nesting

I don't have the energy to organize everything in sight anymore, so that phase of nesting is unfortunately over, but I DO have the energy to bake.  I normally hate baking and I'm really not that great at it.  Lately I have been baking banana bread like you wouldn't believe.  I'm pretty sure my urge to bake is a form of nesting.....I can't imagine what else would make me want to do something I normally hate!
We've got three weeks to go before the new addition makes his entrance into the real world and I am beyond excited.  I'm also a little scared of the transition from one to two.....hopefully it's manageable and I don't lose my mind.  I went to the Dr. again today and everything is looking great.  My body and the little man are not doing anything to get ready for labor, so it looks like he's staying put until he gets evicted.  Apparently he's in no hurry to get out of there.....my Dr. said he thought it could be up to 5 more weeks before the baby decided to come on his own.  I can't even imagine how big he'd get in 5 weeks considering I'm 37 weeks right now and that is technically a full term baby.  The little man is loving to kick my right rib cage and he gets the hiccups all the time.  I can't wait to meet him!
