Because Our Lives Aren't Crazy Enough.....

Archer is two weeks old today and what a two weeks it's been.  I really don't even know where to begin.....I guess I'll just start where I left off in the last post.
After we got home from the hospital, we had about four normal days and then the stress started.  I got a small cough that I think is from allergies, and coughing after a c section is not fun.  Then on Friday, Austen started complaining that his stomach hurt.  I didn't really think much of it because he has only had a stomach bug once in his life and I certainly didn't think he had one now.  Well, I was dead wrong.  He started throwing up later that day.  He was so sick, chills, high fever, vomiting and diarrhea.  It was awful!  In the midst of that I noticed that my incision looked red and swollen in one spot, so I was pretty convinced it was infected.  By Sunday evening we had made it 48 hours with no throw up.  Yay, we were in the clear. I had a coughing fit and the swollen part of my incision started oozing, so now I'm trying to recover from a c section, an internal infection, an incisional infection, take care of a sick four year old, and take care of a newborn.  No big deal right, except that Austen started saying his tummy hurt again and refused to leave the bathroom.  I just thought he was being paranoid, so I forced him out of the bathroom.  I let him sleep in our bed that night because he was so upset.  At 3:30 in the morning he sat up and said he needed to throw up.  Both Brian and I assured him he didn't and then he showed us how wrong we were.....all over our bed.  It was absolutely awful!  He spent the rest of Monday morning throwing up, so we took him to the Dr. first thing in the morning.  The Dr. thinks he just has a stomach bug, so we'll see.  I'm REALLY hoping he gets better soon!  He's still complaining of a tummy ache today, so I'm a little worried, but Brian is convinced we've turned the corner and he's going to get better. I have been worried sick about the baby and have been trying my best to keep them separate.....I really don't want the baby to get whatever Austen has.  We are just washing our hands like crazy and praying for a miracle at this point.

Austen was so sick that he fell asleep like this on the toilet.
 Poor kid!

Luckily Brian came home and got him all set up with the ipad, a blanket, and of course a bowl (he's been carrying around a bowl for four days straight).

In other news, Archer was into size 1 diapers by day 7, lost his umbilical cord on day 10, and at day 14 I've had to pull out the 3-6 month clothes because he's already too big for his 0-3 size.  Oh, and he smiles a lot!

Here's some cute brotherly love pics from before the sickness hit.
