We had a very interesting week last week. It was stressful at first, but I'm happy to say that Archer is doing great and after the first 18 hours or so has had no problems. His breathing problem is gone and he is a perfectly healthy baby! He had a horrible allergic reaction to the hospital clothes though and got huge welts all over his body. They went away a few hours after I started dressing him in clothes from home. I guess he has really sensitive skin like his brother
I developed a low fever at the hospital and saw four different doctors that all gave me a different reason for the fever. I'm pretty sure that means they have no idea what's wrong which sucks, but after having no fever for 24 hours, they finally let us go home. I'm still having the same symptoms, but I'm on antibiotics and my fever is staying just below the point of having to go back in. I'm praying it stays that way!
The first night home, Archer was not happy. He cried pretty much all night and that woke up Austen, so it was a rough night for everyone. Austen would wake up and then plug his ears saying that the baby was too loud. It was sad, but funny too. Last night was much better. Archer has seemingly adjusted to his new environment and his crying didn't wake Austen in the night.
Austen is adjusting well so far and loves to help do anything for the baby. Archer is doing great and seems to be a good baby so far. He really hates it when he has a messy diaper, but other than that he's pretty happy.
Here's Austen visiting us in the hospital. Having my two boys with me for the first time was pure bliss!
Archer is mesmerized by Brian's voice and really, really loves Daddy.
First time holding baby brother.
First time around a poopy diaper.....lol
He's super excited that he can wear this shirt now.
